This is the official Loftus Family site for the April 2010 General Conference Breakfast of Champions. For those who are new: We have accepted the challenge to read every talk in the April, 2010 Ensign. In addition, we will select at least one quote from each talk and record it and a short reflection of why that quote is important to us. The Breakfast of Champions will be held in October, 2010 at IHOPs in Provo and Hillsboro.
I thought this talk went very well with the earlier talk on 'Being Temperate in all Things' by Elder Watson. President Monson said: "Anger doesn't solve anything. It builds nothing, but it can destroy everything....To be angry is to yield to the influence of Satan. No one can Make us angry. It is our choice." So often we hear, he/she made me mad, etc. We need to remember that we are responsible for how we respond, it is not something we can blame on anyone else. I have seen that, anger is an emotion that is easy to share, but hard to control. BUT when we do learn how to 'school our feelings', peace does come and we are able to feel the love or our Heavenly Father and love for those around us even more.

ReplyDelete"To be angry is to yield to the influence of Satan. No one can MAKE us anry. It is our choice. If we desire to have a proper spirit with us at all times, we must choose to refrain from being angry." We need to overcome the natural man! Little steps like noticing when we are starting to boil, will keep us from a rapid boil. This is something we always need to pray for. Have patience. Serve the person you are angry with. You will feel love for them.
