This is the official Loftus Family site for the April 2010 General Conference Breakfast of Champions. For those who are new: We have accepted the challenge to read every talk in the April, 2010 Ensign. In addition, we will select at least one quote from each talk and record it and a short reflection of why that quote is important to us. The Breakfast of Champions will be held in October, 2010 at IHOPs in Provo and Hillsboro.
He compares our spiritual change of heart to a heart transplant. We need a change of heart (the atonement) because of our sins/transgressions. The converts of the sons of Mosiah 'endured to the end' by "'their zeal towards God & also towards men; for they were perfectly honest & upright in all things; and they were firm in the faith of Christ, even unto the end.'" Alma 27:27
ReplyDelete"Their zeal towards God likely reflects and eagerness to please God & worship Him with fervor & passion. Their zeal towards men suggests an ardent interest in helping & serving others. Being perfectly unright & honest in all things suggests taht they held their covenants firmly & did not rationalize their commitments to God or man- we further know that they taught their children the gospel in their homes. We know that they buried their weapons of war, distancing themselves from temptation."
These are five things we should be doing (among others) to endure to the end. We need to be careful to not become 'casual' in scripture reading, prayer & our spirituality. As Elder Renlund shared by his example.
